Q&A: Who is Men’s Total Health?
Interview by Gia Sausse
1.) How did Men’s Total Health come to be?
NP Michael Roach, worked 10 years in Houston, Texas, specializing in men’s health and hormone therapy. He saw a need in the New Orleans area for a men’s health clinic providing these same services, so he decided, along with his business partner Ross Cannizaro, to bring his expertise to his home town.
2.) How long has the clinic been in business?
Since August 2020
3.) What are the services you offer?
– Primary Care (Wellness visit, Annual exam management of Diabetes and HTN etc)
– Hormone Therapy (Testosterone Replacement Therapy for males and females)
– Weight Management (peptide therapy including Sermorelin, Ipamorelin, Semaglutide, Tirzepatide and a nutritionist consult)
– Erectile Dysfunction (P-shot/PRP injection, Trimix and Viagra/Cialis/Levitra)
– Hair Loss (PRP in combination with topical treatments)
4.) Is there a specific reason that the clinic is focused on men only?
The clinic actually isn’t focused on men only. In fact, we have a lot of female patients that come to us for weight management, hormone therapy, and also PRP, which we offer a shot called the O-shot that fixes the awful nuisance of incontinence but also helps women that may have some sexual performance issues. We are, as the name suggests, mostly geared towards men for the simple reason that men’s problems are generally ignored. There’s a tremendous misconception that it’s not “manly” to have these issues, but the reality is that a large percentage of men have these problems. We want them to understand there is help out there and they are not alone. We are here to help them get back to feeling young and like themselves again.
5.) What is your favorite aspect of the “day-to-day” in the clinic?
Helping men (and women) that didn’t know they had an alternative. Changing patients’ perspective by giving them the tools to take personal responsibility and accountability for their well-being. We want men to take charge of their health, not only for themselves, but for their families.
6.) What would you say to a man seeking treatment at Men’s Total Health?
Don’t wait, we can help now, and correct your issues today. The longer you wait, you’ll regret losing those days or months down the road.
7.) What sets you, your employees, and Men’s Total Health apart from the other clinics?
In a word, experience. Mike has close to 13 years of expertise in managing, treating, and maintaining men’s hormonal levels. We have a passion to help men and couples here in the NOLA region. We are not like your typical urgent care or doctors office. Our employees get to know our patients and treat you with dignity, not just an empty number. The testimonials back up that statement. Come see for yourself. Your perception of what a medical clinic is, or should be, will change with one visit.
8.) Are there any misconceptions people have about a men-only health facility?
The biggest misconception is you have to be tough. You can figure this out on your own. However, what you are going thru with fatigue, low libido, ED, etc, is common. One in three men have low testosterone and we are proof that you don’t need to do it on your own. Let us help you and teach you and get you back on track. It doesn’t have to be this way.
9.) What do you want to ensure readers know about Men’s Total Health?
We are different. We are not like any doctors office you’ve ever been in. We do not treat you like a dollar sign. We will put together an individualized plan of medicine for each person that walks through the door. Your health is the most important thing to us and a close second, is your experience with us. We know that our patients are our biggest advocates and taking care of them in a professional manner is priority number one.
10.) Anything else you want our readers to know about Men’s Total Health?
Too often, men put off going to the doctor. Whether with us or somewhere else, we plead with you to get an annual check-up. It will literally save your life. We have seen many cases where that’s true and unfortunately, we have seen where it was too late. We want to change this mindset in men. Take control of your health. If you just feel “off”, we encourage you to come in. We will get you back to feeling like yourself again!
